Yes!   We have lift off.   It has been years in the thinking and months in the making, but WritingRedux is launched.  Why today, despite the fact there are a hundred visible or invisible details still to be fixed?   Three reasons:

One.   It is Shakespeare’s birthday and 2016 is also the 400th anniversary of his death.  A year of celebrations for a man who lives on, and you can see some of them lined up at http://www.shakespeare400.org/.  I have promised myself to read all 37 plays in the coming year.

Two.   If this weren’t enough, Cervantes also died 400 years ago, almost to the day (22 April 1616).

Three.   Following the Spanish theme today is La Diada de Sant Jordi, a Catalan festival in which men gives roses to their sweethearts and women give books to theirs… If you haven’t bought your roses or your books yet, please take some inspiration from WritingRedux and go and do so.

And if you enjoy this first showing of a freshly minted website, please do me the kindness of telling your friends and signing up to the mailing list so you can be notified of new posts and other updates (you can always unsubscribe later).   Thank you and welcome!
