This irreverent definition of philosophy made me smile, though with the current invasion of Ukraine, ‘the finding of bad reasons’ has other resonances, such as cooked up, fact-mangling pretexts for starting wars which you don’t even have the honesty to call by their name. Â
Philosophy, according to Bradley, is the finding of bad reasons for what we believe by instinct.
