I liked this embracing sweep of the world’s beauty, conveying something of its uniqueness, magnificence and vulnerability.

In the midst of space lay the world, with its long shores, and vast oceans, ice mountains, and green plains. 

Cherish any or all of those aspects, or others. 

From a 1930s children’s book telling stories of the Norse gods, more humane and heroic than I had credited them.
