Like a fresh, dazzling morning after a long night, a new lease of life, an awakening … I like this use of light to describe time, in an eternal present tense.

‘Well mine would be a First Day Paradise, for a very solid reason. In it one would have no past, nor future, only the new-peeled light of the present, and so put the unthinkableness of eternity out of one’s mind.’
