Lovely vowel harmony in that ‘lacquer-black’, it deserves to entirely supplant the boringly bog standard ‘pitch black’.  Do me a favour and use it the next time you want to emphasize the essence of the colour. 

And oh, to see this midnight dark river flowing from the vantage of a castle of ineffable charm!

… a switchback bend in the lacquer-black Vltava River and a glowering cliff on which is heaped a castle complex of ineffable charm.
