A word I have never seen used until now, which seems like a missed opportunity for dressing up your discourse in more eloquent wrapping: a long or elaborate essay or discussion on a particular subject. By extension, disquisitively describes being in disquisition mode.
Perhaps I will call my essays disquisitions and see if anyone notices.
