I found this in Ryszard Kapuscinski’s Imperium, but can find no other reference to it.  Perhaps the spelling is different, though I have tried variants.  I am now intrigued and would like to hear these haunting, beautiful psalms.  If they exist.

‘A kind of Armenian psalm, haunting, beautiful.  Benik had a new French recording of patarks sung in Paris by an Armenian choir. You can also hear patarks in Armenia if you go outside of Yerevan, to Echmiadzin, which is the Vatican of the Armenian church.’
