‘He quaddled down the hard mud … ‘
A charming variant of ‘waddle’, also written ‘quoddle’. Since ducks are known for waddling, you wonder if ‘quaddle’ emerged when someone witnessed a waddle and a quack while crossing a puddle and muddled the two.
